1. I think people join gangs to look cool I guess. To look tough . Probably insecure about themselves, that's their only out. Probably has a bad home life. And to get money.

2. An ex- gang member said he had to leave Illinois. He didn't have a choice. He said like you retiring from it. You don't quit.

3. They don't separate you like on purpose. Like that show beyond scared straight. They purposely put those kids with opposite gang members to torture them. And make them scared . But they would separate you.

4. Recent data show that the average age is more gang members are over 18 years old. But there are a lot of gang bangers under 18. I know gang bangers as young as 12.

5. Some gangs have initiation ceremonies, and some don't. It all depends what gang it is. One way is if you're blessed into a gang, if you have an older relative or family member in it. Then you don't have to do anything. And probably have test to see if you have what it takes to be and stay in it.

Out of 50 curie students 78% said they know gangbangers.
